Introduction
Mellow is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use our Discord bot and related services.
What information we collect
User data
Discord user ID, username, and roles.
Message data
Content you send to the bot: conversations, check-ins, ghost letters, journal entries, feedback, and reports. Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest.
Guild data
Server (guild) IDs, names, and per-guild settings where the bot is present.
Usage data
Timestamps and command usage, used for rate limiting and diagnostics.
How we use your information
- To provide and improve the bot's features, such as check-ins, coping tools, reminders, and support.
- To respond to feedback, bug reports, and support requests.
- For safety, including crisis screening of text you explicitly share with the bot.
- To comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
Data storage & security
- Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database.
- Sensitive message content is encrypted per-field with AES-256-GCM before it is written.
- Access is restricted to authorized team members only.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except as required by law or for safety.
Third-party services
Discord
We use Discord's API to provide bot functionality. Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy .
Anthropic
AI responses are generated with Anthropic's Claude API. Messages sent to AI features are processed by Anthropic and are not used to train their models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy .
Your rights
- You can export or delete your data at any time with
/preferences, or by contacting the team via the support server or at [email protected]. - You can opt out of features such as reminders via
/preferences set.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in this document and announced in the support server.
